Riding up the Col du Tourmalet TdF 100 No.8 (zoomphoto-tourmalet.com)

This is my blog about riding the Massif Central and Pyrenees mountains as listed in the “100 Greatest Cycling Climbs of the Tour de France” by Simon Warren.

There is no target audience or demographic.

I hope it will inspire, interest, and amuse cyclists of all levels, abilities, and styles.

Although I am nearly 70 and choosing to ride a Brompton, it is irrelevant.

A cyclist is cyclist, and a bike is a bike.

Rather than just write about my rides, I have included my philosophy, training, and preparation.

Not everything went right or to plan as you will discover throughout the site, but I achieved what I set out to do.

It is only right, however, that I add some points as a disclaimer.

  • I am not affiliated with or have any relationship with Brompton. I just ride one.
  • On a Brompton is purely a personal and non-commercial website.
  • I am not a cycling coach, a fitness coach or dietitian.
  • My decisions and choices on my rides are ones I took and accepted the risks for.
In hindsight, not all were the wisest, or safest, so please make your own choices.

Or in the words of Oscar Wilde,

“Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken.”
